Detronik has been operating on the battlefield with live vision mixing for quite sometime. Occasionally Detronik is invited to exhibit some of the various strategies and concepts actively utilized within the methods of producing their intense visual shows. Although this is a relatively new concept for Detronik, the anticipation is that one day Detronik will have more of a gallery presence.  With the recent addition to Detronik “Studio X” in April 2010, the duo vows to increase this presence exponentially.

Detronik and Studio X Installation

Detronik and Studio X Installation Purgatory 2010

These stills were taken from an Exhibition entitled “Purgatory” at Detroit’s Tangeant Gallery in May, 2010.  The installation demonstrated Detronik’s new Vision Projection Mapping system created purely with VVVV.  The system’s concept is to provide a quick, reliable, more effective method to coordinate projections while doing its urban vision assaults.  The system permits strategic “spline” visual mapping onto surfaces utilizing a coordinate system.  Practically any surface can be quickly and effectively transformed into a projection surface.  Special thanks to our Australian Partner on the project Kyle of “Everyone is Happy” for assisting with the programming spectrum.
