Detronik Audio
- December 21st, 2009
Detronik’s sound was developed to demonstrate various DIY electronic instruments and modified devices that were constructed in Detroits industrial underground. Formed in the Mid 1990’s by Micho aka Detronik with co-operator and partner Matthew Ulrich aka AntiLogic, the work was established as a foundation for organizing random noise and sound glitches created by the devices. Detronik did not embrace a certain genre, however its unique sound characteristics were actually developed within the infamous 2030 Grand River Building which also housed Detroits Underground Resistance. Thus some of the UR Influence is in there. Detronik toured and opened for many innovative musicians including some of Detroits originators, funkstorung, and many more, often related to Dopplereffekt.
AntiLogic has spinned off to create independent soundscapes while today Detronik is mainly a visual entity. Detroniks sound experimentation continues and can be found interwoven within multi media installation pieces and art happenings.
